Pakistan - Not A Single Federal Secretary From Balochistan

Among the pool of 40 federal secretaries there is not a single one from Balochistan, reported The News.
Federal secretaries are grade-22 government servants controlling federal ministries and only subordinate to their respective federal minister.
Out of 40 federal secretaries, 22 are from Punjab, 11 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 3 from Sindh, 2 each from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK).
Pir Bakhsh Jamali is the only Grade-22 officer from Balochistan who is additional secretary for States and Frontier Regions Division.
Balochistan has 6% Quota in Federal government jobs but that quota is not followed at the appointment of federal secretaries.
“In the present lot of officers from our province [Balochistan], almost half of them have fake domiciles,” two bureaucrats from Balochistan told The News reporter. “Unfortunate practice of non-locals obtaining Balochistan’s domicile will have to be discouraged to end sense of deprivation among officers from Balochistan,’’ added the bureaucrats.
Senator Kabir Mohammad Shahi from Balochistan had alleged couple of days back thatFederal Bureaucracy is responsible for backwardness of Balochistan.
