Balochistan - Twelve injured in Chaman blast

At least 12 people, including a nine-year-old boy, were injured in a remote-controlled explosion on Taj Raod of Chaman town, a township near the Pak-Afghan border, on Sunday.
“Twelve people sustained splinter wounds, including a nine-year-old boy Mohammad Ikram who is critically injured,” SHO Chaman police station Agha Mohammed told The Express Tribune.
According to Chaman police, an IED weighing five kilogrammes was packed in a box and placed near a car on Taj Road, one of the busy marketplaces in Chaman town.
“We have found the remote control from the crime scene,” Mohammad said. “There is a huge nullah near the blast site and it is likely that the person had come from there to plant the explosives,” he said.
The injured were transported to Civil Hospital Chaman.
Police and the bomb disposal squad reached the site soon after the explosion, and further investigation is underway.
