Pakistan - Taliban apologist present in CDA mosque: Aitzaz Ahsan

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan Tuesday said an apologist of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is serving in the mosque of Capital Development Authority (CDA).

At a Senate meeting presided by Deputy Chairman Sabir Baloch, Aitzaz said if you (government) cannot stop Maulana Abdul Aziz, who is a servant of CDA, what can one expect when it comes to fighting an all out war.

He underscored the need for expanding the scope of the crackdown on terrorists, who, he said, had links in Bannu, Bahawalnagar and Mandi Bahauddin besides Afghanistan. “Punjab should also be kept in focus,” he added.

Abbas Afridi regretted that when his calls as a minister fall on deaf ears, what are the chances of the Senate’s voice being heard.

He said those representing the working group are ‘Baboos’, how would they know the art of fighting a war.

Senator, Shahi Syed of Awami National Party, said he is not sure whether he should call the Interior Minister scared or coward and demanded of Chaudhry Nisar to tender his resignation.
