Pakistan: Co-Chairman PPP formally inaugurated Social Service Wing PPP

Co-Chairman PPP former President Asif Ali Zardari today formally inaugurated the social services wing of the Party by inducting two mobile eye hospitals and two mobile ambulances in the wing and promising to provide another two mobile eye hospitals from his personal resources.
The formal launch and inaugural ceremony of the Party’s Social Service Wing was held in Bilawal House Lahore Monday evening at a ceremony organized by the president of the social services wing Zamurrad Khan and attended by scores of orphaned children of sweet homes, party parliamentarians, former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, provincial president Punjab Manzoor Watto and party leaders and workers.
Speaking on the occasion the former President said that the Party has decided to mobilize the youth in helping the poor and destitute of the country in meeting their basic needs particularly in the sectors of health, education and providing relief and rehabilitation in the event of natural calamities and disasters.
“Alleviating the sufferings of the poorest of the poor and emncipation of the marginalized sections of society should be the central concern of the party and the Social Service Wing has been set up with this aim in view”, he said. In serving the poor and destitute lies the salvation of all of us, the former President said.
The President of the newly set up wing of social services of the party Zamurad khan speaking on the occasion said he had devoted his life to the cause of alleviating the sufferings of destitute and needy and thanked the former president and the party for giving him a platform for this purpose and engaging the country’s youth in this regard.
Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that late the former president also presided over a meeting of senior party leaders and discussed the current political situation in the country and organizational matters of the party. The meeting also reviewed arrangements for the second round of Party’s convention on Tuesday that will be attended by workers from Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gigit-Baltistan and AJK. The first round of the convention was held on Sunday that was participated by workers from Punjab.
