Zardari meets Siraj, agree to resolve issues through negotiations

Former President Asif Zardari has appreciated the efforts of Jamat-e-Islami Ameer Siraj ul Haq and said him to continue efforts as mediator to defuse tension. JI Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq has said that negotiation is the only way to resolve political issues.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari reached Jamat-e-Islami head quarter Mansoora to hold meeting with JI chief Sirajul Haq minutes after meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Asif Zardari reached Mansoora along with his delegation who was welcomed by JI chief Sirajul Haq. Both the leaders discussed the ongoing political situation and ways to defuse the tension.
While talking to media after meeting with Asif Zardari Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq said that all the political parties of the country are on the same page to resolve the current political tense situation through meaningful negotiations. He said that both the parties agreed to continue efforts to resolve the ‘Azadi March’ and ‘Revolution March’ issues through negotiations. He said that Zardari has asked him to continue efforts as mediator to defuse tension.
Siraj said that Zardari has formed a four member PPP committee comprise of Rehman Malik, Raza Rabbani, Aitzaz Ahsan and Khurshid Shah will remain in contact with JI.
He asked PTI to rethink over decision of resignation from National Assembly adding that the NA speaker should delay the acceptance of PTI MNA’s resignations. He announced four member committee of JI to meet NA speaker and ask him to delay the acceptance of PTI MNA’s resignations till the issue was resolved through negotiations.
The meeting was well attended by Khurshid Shah, Aitzaz Ahsan, Raza Rabbani and Rehman Malik.
