The Pakistan people’s party (PPP) senator and former interior minister Rehman Malik said on Tuesday “all the airports across the country are declared federal territory therefore putting all the blame on Sindh government for Karachi tragedy isn’t fair”.
“The federal government is responsible to ensure security at all airports in the country and as such Karachi airport attack was a failure of the federal government. Sindh government is being blamed unfairly,” Malik said while taking to journalists. Malik also said that spots from where terrorists entered the airport could have been easily controlled, adding such an attack should be a source of concern for the government.
Malik demanded of the federal government to take immediate action against the terrorists. “Time has come to act against terrorism,” he asserted. Sindh government has been under fire especially after authorities’ failure to rescue around eight people who were hold up at a cold storage following the attack on Sunday night. All the bodies were recovered on Tuesday morning; hours after authorities including the federal government. Controlled Civil Aviation Authority declared that the airport is clear.
