Scotland will not be guided by London on independence issue – Scottish MP

The people of Scotland will not be "lectured" on the Scottish independence issue, Scottish National Party (SNP) Member of Parliament Angus Robertson has told RIA Novosti. "To be lectured by them about timetables and for democratic processes is something that could only happen in Westminster,” Robertson said.
Scottish MPs should be barred from having any say on the UK's negotiations on a deal to set up an independent Scotland if there is a yes vote in the referendum, an influential Lords committee has stated. The House of Lords constitution committee said Scotland's 59 MPs should be strictly limited to dealing with constituency issues and Scottish affairs immediately after a yes vote and then quit Westminster on the day Scotland declares independence. But the committee, chaired by the former Labour minister Lady Jay, said that Scottish members of the Lords should still be allowed to sit in the upper chamber if they continued to pay UK taxes after independence, a recommendation denounced by the Scottish National party.
UK Prime Minister David Cameron is heading to Scotland for a two-day visit as polls show a steady rise in numbers supporting Scottish independence. The trip comes as Cameron and his colleagues are unhappy with the anti-independence campaign. The Prime Minister will campaign for a "No" vote in September's referendum, when Scots will be asked whether they to remain in the UK.
The "Better Together" campaign is being led by Labour MP Alistair Darling, the former Chancellor. But the Prime Minister is unhappy with his performance as he understands that nothing can stop the Scots from supporting their independence.
