Pakistan: Plan to attack KPK IG foiled, Taliban commander arrested

Police and sensitive organizations have arrested Taliban commander Qari Anas and his two accomplices wading off planned attempts on the lives of Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) Inspector General (IG) and other high police officials, Geo News reported. Police sources said that Taliban commander Qari Anas alis Abu Musa was holed up near Swabi Interchange, when on a tip-off the police party and men from the sensitive organizations conducting a raid arrested him and his two accomplices. Modern weapons were recovered from the possession of the accused, police said. Sources said that the accused were planning to target the KPK IG, Nasir Durrani and other high police officials passing through the Swabi Interchange.
