Deobandi terrorist nurseries boom in Pakistan disguised as philanthropic Madrassas

by Dr. Saifur Rehman
Last month government did what was expected. Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet tried to axe the philanthropic activities in Pakistan by approving a policy framework for regulation of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) receiving foreign contributions. New memoranda of understanding with International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) will be signed, particularly those relating to ongoing operations. The memoranda with INGOs will be signed for a period up to five years. They will have to maintain a full disclosure of their activities, areas of work and sources and use of their funds.
Latest move will axe the ongoing philanthropic operations in the country, and surely discourage future philanathropic activities. This puts question mark on policies of current government. The imapct of it will become visible in coming days. INGOs are promoting healthy environment in our country but Government is discouraging INGOs to work and which alternative they have to replace INGOs? Which organizations will fill the space after withdrawal of work of INGOs from Pakistan? Perhaps governemnt wants to push pakistan back in 1980s and 90s era, when there was mashroom growth of madressas(terrorist nurseries) and such terrorist organisations which have been funded by foreign countries to date. Untill now, their activities, source and use of funds are not regularized.
Currently estimated total number of madressas(terrorist nurseries) in Pakistan is 40,000. Religious organisations are responsible for local and global terrorism. Some muslim countries pour funding into these organisatons. These 40,000 terrrorist nurseries are breeding these terrorists and these are base camps of all actvities, foreigners are settled there in terrorist nurseries, recent drone strike on terrorist nursery in hangu killed 5 foreign nationals and there are so many reports and evidences that foreign nationals use these terrorist nurseries to destabilize Pakistan. these are also the source sectarian violence in Pakistan, don’t go in past, have a close look at the recent rawalpindi violence on novenber 15, 2013.
After 9/11, during his government, musharraf tried to regulate madressas(terrorist nurseries) and terrrorist outfits of religiuos organisations but he could not make it practical, as he was enjoying support of religious parties in the form of MMA. Last government of PPP, wanted to terminate all sort of activities of terorist organisations and madressas(terrorist nurseries), but fragile PPP government bowed towards the pressure from ITMD(Ittehad Tanzeem-I-Madaris Deeniya) –The alliance of all religious organisations- And still, madressas(terrorist nurseries) and terrorist outfits of religious organisations work with full impunity under the umbrella of philanthropic work. No government took action against them and current government don’t bother to inquire this matter, Punjab government itself has been pouring money into these outfits officially since 2008. Latest move is aimed at facilitation of these terrorist nurseries and terrorist organisations. Tough days ahead, are we preparing for another unending so called jihad? and that is too against our own society, culture and country as whole. Well done Mian Sahib, you are having a great team to serve Pakistan!
