Troubles for Pakistan if NATO supplies not restored: Khar

Speaking to journalists on board the prime minister’s aircraft back to Islamabad from the UK, the Foreign Minister Hian Rabbani Khar said that Britain has also demanded restoration of NATO supply. She said it is in Pakistan’s interest to facilitate an international operation, while on the other she says that there are many friendly countries whose supplies are also blocked. NATO and ISAF are umbrella organisations of 48 countries, including close friends such as Turkey, the UK. We cannot ignore our friends, she said. She said that the decision to close the NATO supply routes was the correct one but it is time now to reopen them. “I personally believe that NATO supply routes through Pakistan, closed for some six months now, should be reopened. Hina refused to comment on stepping down of US ambassador in Pakistan, Cameron Munter, saying that it is internal affair of US.
