As soon as Vladimir Putin, who is currently Russia’s prime minister, will be inaugurated as president on May 7, the government headed by him will retire.
It is already known who will be Russia’s next prime Minister. Back on September 24, Mr. Putin said that if he becomes president, he will appoint Dmitry Medvedev the prime minister.
On May 7, Mr. Medvedev will start consultations with the Russian parties’ parliamentary fractions. Then, the parliament’s lower house will make a decision on whether to accept his candidature.
